Colonic Hydrotherapy
Private, professional colonic hydrotherapy in a calm and discreet clinic environment.
Whether you’re considering your first colonic or have experienced colonic hydrotherapy before, our approach is unhurried, informative and centred around your privacy and comfort.
What is Colonic Hydrotherapy?
Colonic hydrotherapy, sometimes known as colonic irrigation, involves introducing warm, filtered water into the colon to assist the evacuation of waste from the large intestine.
At The Colonic Pod in Ashford, treatments take place in a private treatment room with time allowed before your session to discuss the process, your health history and any questions you may have.
We understand that booking a colonic for the first time can feel unfamiliar. Your practitioner will explain what happens before, during and after your appointment so you know what to expect.
What Happens During Your Appointment?
We understand it's completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first appointment.
That's why we focus on creating a calm, respectful and reassuring environment from the moment you arrive.
-
We begin by discussing your health history, bowel habits, lifestyle and reasons for considering colonic hydrotherapy.
-
Your practitioner will explain the equipment and treatment process before you begin.
-
Your treatment takes place in a private environment with time allowed for you to feel comfortable and unhurried.
-
We explain what you may experience afterwards and provide straightforward aftercare guidance.
Your First Colonic: What to Expect
FOR FIRST-TIME CLIENTS
Never had a colonic before?
You're not expected to know what happens
Many first-time clients have practical questions about the treatment, privacy, preparation and what they may experience afterwards. Here's everything you need to know, so you can arrive feeling informed rather than unsure.
Before Your Appointment
Drink plenty of water in the days beforehand and try to eat lightly on the day itself. There's no need to change your routine drastically, just come as you are, and we'll talk you through anything specific to you at your consultation.
01
What to Wear
Comfortable, loose clothing is best, something easy to change in and out of. You'll be given a gown to wear during your treatment, so there's nothing you need to bring or prepare beforehand.
02
What Happens When You Arrive
You'll be welcomed into our private waiting area and given time to settle in before anything begins. Your practitioner will greet you personally and walk you through your consultation before your treatment starts.
03
How the Treatment Works
Colonic hydrotherapy uses warm, filtered water in a private treatment room, with your practitioner guiding you through every step. It's a gentle process, and you'll always be told what's happening before it happens.
04
Privacy and Dignity
Your comfort matters as much as your treatment. You'll be appropriately covered throughout, and your practitioner is experienced, respectful and completely focused on helping you feel at ease, never exposed or rushed.
05
How Long to Allow
Please allow around an hour and a half for your first visit, this includes your initial consultation, the treatment itself and a little time afterwards before you head off. Follow-up appointments are typically a little shorter.
06
What Happens Afterwards
Most clients feel lighter and more comfortable straight away, though everyone's experience is a little different. You may want to use the bathroom again shortly after your session, which is completely normal.
07
Aftercare
We'll give you simple, practical guidance to take away, covering hydration, eating and rest for the remainder of your day, so you know exactly what to expect and how to look after yourself afterwards.

Is Colonic Hydrotherapy Suitable for Everyone?
Colonic hydrotherapy isn't suitable for everyone, which is why we ask every client to complete a health consultation before treatment begins.
Certain medical conditions, medications, recent surgery or pregnancy may mean treatment isn't suitable, or that medical advice should be sought first.
Please tell us about your medical history when you book. Where appropriate, we may recommend speaking with your GP or another healthcare professional before going ahead.
